Biography

Sam was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. When he was four years old he moved to Portland, Oregon. He began studying music at the age of five, taking piano lessons with Robyn Pfeifer at Pfeifer MusicWerks Studio. Upon entering high school, he began studying composition with Dr. Mary Wright. Sam is currently studying music theory and composition at New York University. He has studied with Matt Steckler and David Spear.

Sam's compositions have been performed by Fear No Music, Community Music School of Webster University students and faculty, and on FM and web radio. The films he has scored have had screenings in Los Angeles, Cleveland, and New York City, and his film Clonehunter had an international DVD release.
